After dominating the dance-pop landscape once again with her chart-topping anthem 'Wildfire' and unveiling her boldest body of work to date with her second EP 'Red', London-based rising star Allegra is closing out the year on a creative high. Seamlessly blending vulnerability with unapologetic confidence, 'Red' marks a defining moment in Allegra’s evolution, one that sees her moving from teenage beginnings into full artistic autonomy, with club-ready hits and deeply emotional storytelling existing in perfect balance.

From graduating university alongside releasing new music, to pushing her limits through choreography, visuals and fearless creative risks, this year has been nothing short of transformative for Allegra. As she looks ahead to an even bigger 2026, she reflects on growth, girlhood, empowerment and the songs that shaped her most confident chapter yet.

We caught up with Allegra for her end-of-year Q&A to talk 'Red', creative risks, dancing in the shower, and what’s next.

Hi Allegra, how are you feeling as we head into the end of the year?

Honestly, really grateful. It’s been such a transformative year for me, personally and creatively. And releasing my RED EP I finally feel like I’m stepping into who I’m supposed to be.

You’ve just released your second EP, ‘Red.’ It’s been described as your most confident musical chapter yet. Why does this collection of songs feel the most “you” compared to your previous releases?

Red feels the most “me” because I finally allowed myself to take creative risks without second-guessing. I stopped trying to fit into a specific box and leaned into what genuinely excites me. I had the space to experiment, to play, and to follow my instincts, and that freedom is all over this EP.

Is there a particular song on the EP that holds special meaning for you? If so, why?

“Waterfall” is the one that holds the deepest meaning for me. Every time I listen to it, I get emotional, it genuinely makes me cry.

I really hope it connects with young girls especially, because there’s so much pressure to look a certain way and to always appear confident and put together. “Waterfall” is a reminder that you don’t have to be perfect, you’re allowed to feel, to break a little, and to be honest about what you’re going through. If the song can make even one girl feel seen or less alone, then that means everything to me.”

Each track comes with its own music video, which one was your favourite to shoot?

“Red,” 100%. It was the moment the whole era clicked into place. The visuals, the styling, the choreography. And I think you can really see that throughout the video.

Looking back on 2025, what would you say is your proudest moment?

Honestly, graduating uni while releasing music I’m so proud of. Balancing both worlds wasn’t easy but I did it.

Earlier this year, you topped the Music Week Commercial Pop Club Chart with your dance-pop anthem ‘Wildfire.’ How do achievements like this motivate you and inspire you to keep creating hits and evolving as an artist?

It’s such an amazing feeling, but more than anything it reminds me that people are connecting with my music. That’s the biggest motivation. ‘Wildfire’ was really special to me. I really listened to my gut and it paid off. It gives me confidence to push more boundaries.

What inspired your music the most this year, emotionally or musically?

Emotionally, it was definitely growing. I went through a huge shift in my confidence, in the way I see myself, in the boundaries I set. Musically, I was inspired by strong female artists who aren’t afraid to mix vulnerability with power. I wanted to capture that balance, soft and fierce at the same time.

You also have a strong passion for dance, which shines through in the routines featured in the ‘Red’ music videos. Is getting people moving an important part of the music you write?

Absolutely! Dance has become such a huge part of my artistry. I’ve always loved watching choreography and being around that energy, but I’m not a trained dancer at all which is why I love the challenge even more. Stepping into the dance studio and pushing myself is honestly one of my favourite parts of the process now.

For me, getting people moving is so important. If a track doesn’t make me want to move, then something’s off. Every single I put out has to pass what my team calls the “dancing in the shower test” if I can’t dance to it in the shower, it’s not making the cut! It always makes everyone laugh, but it’s genuinely the best way for me to feel if a song has that spark. If I’m dancing, hopefully everyone else will be too.

If 2025 had a personal theme song, what would it be?

“Run the World (Girls)”  just fits. This year was all about strength, independence, and stepping into my power. And honestly, the energy of that song is exactly how 2025 felt for me.

What can fans expect from you in 2026 in terms of new music or creative direction?

I’m already deep into the next project, and it’s taking me somewhere totally new. I wanted to collaborate with new writers and work with some hot new producers. I can't wait to tell you more!!

What are you most excited about as you head into the new year?

I’m excited for new music, new visuals, new experiences. But also to live a little. The best songs come from real life, so I’m looking forward to making memories, meeting new people, and letting it all inspire the next chapter.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year from me X
