Hollister and The Mix collaborate for a second year and host podcast to celebrate World Teen Mental Wellness Day 2022

The partnership continues a shared commitment to helping teens practice self-care and prioritise their mental health

Hollister Co., the global teen retail brand, is proud to announce the extension of its  partnership with The Mix, a leading digital youth charity dedicated to providing free and confidential support to young people across the UK.

In its third year, Hollister’s World Teen Mental Wellness Day takes place annually on March 2nd to disrupt the stigma surrounding mental health. For the second year running, Hollister and The Mix have pledged to unite in a mission to improve support networks and signposting for under 25s. This year, a positive message is shared that taking care of yourself replenishes your own resources, and by doing so you will have more to give to yourself, others and the world.

We are all beginning to adapt to a new normal and are very much aware that the past two years have significantly impacted the lives of many young people, with palpable lasting effects felt across interrupted education, feelings of loneliness, and rebuilding friendships.

These poignant subjects will form part of a Special Edition of The Mix’s ‘By The Way Podcast’. Taking place at Hollister’s Regent Street store in London, a panel consisting of The Mix ambassadors and Hollister store associates will share their expertise and experiences to a closed audience. The podcast will be available via The Mix’s Instagram and Youtube channels on 2nd March.

Hollister will also launch an exclusive WTMWD capsule collection consisting of a hooded top (£35), t-shirt) £19) and socks (£9). Profits from this collection will be directed to Hollister’s Confidence Project, which is a year-round, global initiative that supports individuals and non-profits working to strengthen confidence and mental wellness in teens through a grant program.

Hollister’s Confidence Project scheme has now proudly given out $1,000,000 in grants. This year’s successful applicants will be announced in due course.

Furthermore, Hollister’s continued support of The Mix and the brilliant work that they carry out is assisted with a donation of £20,000 to the charity.

Through its continued partnership, Hollister and The Mix will reinforce 2nd March as a vital calendar moment, encouraging young people to practice self-care and treat themselves with the respect they deserve.

Katie Adams, Senior Director of EMEA Marketing at Hollister, says; “We are so pleased to continue our journey with The Mix to deliver support systems for young people in what are some of the most challenging times in recent history. Mental wellness continues to be deeply important to us and our teen customers around the world. Through Hollister’s WTMWD initiative and The Mix’s unrivaled expertise and passion, we have a strong foundation to help equip young people with the skill sets and confidence to fight back and thrive.”

Zoe Bailie, Deputy CEO at The Mix, says; “In 2021, The Mix and Hollister teamed up to reach millions of young people on World Teen Mental Wellness Day. 1.5 million children and young people will need mental health support as a direct impact of Covid-19 and after another challenging year, we are even more determined to provide that support to under 25s whenever and wherever it's needed.

By producing this new episode of our podcast, By The Way, we will give young people a platform to express some of their brilliant ideas on how to look after themselves, keep healthy and stay positive. I'd say we can all learn a thing or two from them! We're so grateful to be working with Hollister to raise awareness of our work and build on the life-saving services we offer young people."
